    Jean-Paul van ‘t Hof

The way Jean Paul sees it, he doesn't work for but with his clients. As a partner and an ally. He likes to know what motivates you and he throws himself into your issues so that he can find the best solutions for you. With personalised advice and tailored solutions.

'As a consultant in the expat and wage tax & social security contributions practice, guiding employers and employees is a daily task. My starting point is always that clients are not only advised but also helped. Preferably with smart solutions that suit specific circumstances. That’s possible only if I really dig into a client's situation. And that means I don't always recommend the same course of action. Personal contact doesn't get in the way of a good solution. It actually reinforces it. My children would agree with me on that point.'

    Olav Kremers

Olav has a huge love for his profession and for figures. Don't ask why, but his favourite numbers are 24 and 142857. He’s driven by the magic of the figures and the people he works for.

'I think it’s important that my recommendations can be applied in practice. I always bear this in mind, whether I'm advising multinationals or supporting customers during a tax audit conducted by the tax authorities. Over the last few years I've been involved mostly with the wage tax aspects of employers and employees who perform cross-border work. I handle the Dutch salary administration for several foreign companies. It gives me a lot of pleasure, I must say. It keeps me young and moving with the times, though my three children help do that too.

Whether he's working with his team on a complex tax issue or pursuing a practical solution alone for a client, he does it with a great deal of pleasure. Each and every day. Seeing what the entire Courdid team achieves makes him very happy.

`I focus on tax advice for expats and on wage tax & social security contributions for internationally oriented employers and employees. I'm solutions-orientated and believe good accessibility and personal attention is very important. I also speak regularly in public for groups of employees, HR departments and tax professionals about interesting tax issues and hot topics. And if I have any energy left, you'll find me on the golf course or on the waves with my kite.

`I like to keep up with what is happening in society and I enjoy the dynamics of my work. I advise and support large international companies on legal employment and legal residency in the Netherlands. This involves requesting and obtaining permits and advising on immigration procedures for employees and their family members. With Loredana, we have a real thrill-seeker in the office. And that's not only because she's crazy about snowboarding and climbing. Even at work, she seeks out challenges and action.

`What I enjoy about tax issues are their complexities and their constant legal and regulatory changes. I love puzzles and looking for solutions, whether I'm doing tax returns, giving advice on the 30% ruling or delving into aspects of emigration, immigration and other international tax issues. I never run away from a challenge. In fact, I enjoy looking for them. Not only at work but also at home. Snowboarding and climbing give me the thrills I need, but I also love going for a walk along the beach with my family.'

    Jordy Verduyn Lunel

It might not be the first thing that springs to mind when you think of an organisation that's all about numbers, but Jordy attributes great importance to the social aspects of the job. Both in his work and in his private life, he enjoys being there for people.

‘I focus mainly on payroll administration for expats and local employees. The situations that employees posted around the world find themselves in are very interesting and extend far beyond tax matters. They face a great many challenges and that fascinates me. That's why I believe it’s important to be there for them, to contribute ideas, and to come up with good solutions. You can only do this if you dare to think outside the box and keep track of changing laws and regulations. Visiting the gym regularly, keeps me focussed. That doesn't mean I don’t enjoy a good night of binge-watching every now and then. This also keeps you on your toes, you know!’

Long walks with her dog keep Linh grounded while she travels in her mind. This helps her to better understand her international portfolio, enabling her to delve deeper into cross-border employment and all of the complex issues it involves.

'From the very beginning, my career has been characterised by Global Mobility. Understanding every aspect of cross-border employment is a challenge that thrills me, as only then will I be able to provide sound advice to both international and national employers.I also love helping international employees in the Netherlands who need guidance with the Dutch tax system, for example by making complex subject matter understandable for them. And I have direct lines of communication with foreign partners so that I can help employees find their way there, and thus make their experience with tax issues palatable. My hobbies – cooking, exercising and walking with my dog – keep me centred. They keep me in balance. Which helps me to stay focused.'

    Rik van den Braak

Over the years, Rik has studied and handled many interesting issues. And once he gets a hold of something, he won't let go. Perhaps that has something to do with his modern combat sport: Krav Maga.

'I started in the international tax-law practice directly after completing my Tax Law studies at the University of Amsterdam. Its complexity and the diversity of issues we see make it enormously interesting. At Courdid, I can do what I love best: advising clients, applying the 30% scheme and drawing up income tax returns, notices of objection and other procedures. I am also very busy outside of Courdid, which is a welcome change for my partner and our son, and you can often find me having a drink or visiting a festival with my friends.'

If you’re wondering what sports, gaming and DIY have to do with payroll administration, Ritesh can fill you in on every detail. These things energise him and keep him sharp, all in order to be able to brainstorm with clients and do everything he can to help them reach their targets.

‘Payroll administration is so much than just making sure that people get paid on time. I want relieve businesses of all their payroll concerns, whether they regard expats or locals. I tell them: ‘Don’t worry, I’ll handle it’. That allows businesses to focus on their core activities. I play an indirect role in helping businesses grow. Both professionally and personally. Helping people get on the right track and brainstorming with them makes me happy. Particularly when international businesses are concerned. You come to a country that you might not know too much about and where you want to distinguish yourself professionally. This involves a lot of work learning about the ins and outs of the laws and regulations there. That is something I approach with laser focus, which means it is important to have some time to relax. In my free time, I enjoy sports, gaming and DIY. This also keeps me mentally sharp and aware.’

    Jimmy Folmer

Courdid specialises in wage tax and expatriate services. That is also Jimmy’s area of expertise. It’s not just something he knows about, it’s something from which he derives a great deal of energy and satisfaction – because every expat is unique and calls exclusively for customised solutions.

‘Expats have a lot of questions. Are they tax subjects or not, and if so, what is subject to tax? The fact that they are relatively unfamiliar with the Dutch tax system increases my desire to help them. I am dedicated to my clients, which is why it is so important to work alongside them to arrive at the best solutions. Every expat is unique, which demands a unique approach. That gives me a lot of energy and satisfaction. That said, spending time with friends, travelling to various cities and following auto racing are also sources of energy for me. Work hard, play hard as they say.’

While her colleagues are busy with tailor-made tax advice, Caroline ensures that everything runs smoothly. In a way that supports her colleagues. She is not only the first point of contact for customers. Everyone knows where to find her internally too.

'My colleagues are specialized in providing tax advice. They deal with payroll taxes and expatriate services. I am more of a generalist and I strengthen our team with many different tasks. With this the Courdid team members are ensured that they can focus even better on their customers and applying for 30% schemes, income tax returns and immigration services. It is the variety of work that gives me a lot of energy. Never a dull moment with Courdid. That also applies to my private life, where I enjoy a horse ride and a good glass of wine with friends.
